Momofuku Milk Bar Confetti Cookies

6 Jan

Please accept this entirely unrealistic yet beautifully created Pixelmator cookie, for these cookies never made it to the point where I could take a picture of them.

Also I made them way too big so they kind of spread together and would not have been as beautiful as my artwork.

Yes, I am finally updating my blog. I decided that I should do that. If you’d like, you can call it a new years resolution, but I figured if I’m paying for the domain name, I might as well post things.

I am in love with the Momofuku Milk Bar cookbook. I can’t make a ton of things in it, it’s complicated, I am probably going to kill my hand mixer on it, but it is so marvelous.

I love funfetti. I love anything involving birthday cake especially if it’s not even cake. So these cookies were right up my alley.

Like I said this cookbook gets pretty complicated. A recipe might involve 2 or 3 other things created from other recipes. Thankfully this only requires one, birthday cake crumb, and it’s pretty simple to make.

Their cookie batters are THICK so if you don’t have a decently powered hand mixer, you are going to kill it quickly. I will probably not make anything more like this until I have a stand mixer. The most liquid ingredient is the clear vanilla extract. Seriously.

Lucky for you if you don’t own the book yet, the recipes for these cookies and the birthday cake crumb are available over at Serious Eats.

Go and make it. These are the best cookies I have ever made myself.
